Register your interest on the online form, and once your slot is confirmed you donate your slot fee on JustGiving. An adult slot is £30 for 24 balls, a junior slot is £15 for 12 balls, and a club team slot is £120 for four batters. All ages and abilities are welcome.

The Story

One bat, against the odds

Batting Against Parkinson's is a 12-hour cricket net relay raising money for Parkinson's UK, founded by Daryn Potgieter, a cricketer living with Parkinson's.

Daryn was diagnosed with Parkinson's. He didn't stop batting. He opens the batting for Surrey's county disability side. His hands don't always do what he asks of them, and yet there he is, walking out to face the bowling. The scoreboard doesn't care about a diagnosis. It just counts the runs.

Batting Against Parkinson's turns that fight into something bigger than one person. It is a day built for everyone, a chance for a whole community to score runs against a condition that around 166,000 people in the UK live with, and that is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.

This is the permanent home of the campaign. It grows year on year. The 2027 challenge is where it begins.

The Event

Twelve hours. One net. A relay that never stops.

On Saturday 20 February 2027, at PowerPlay RH1 in Redhill, Surrey, the net stays live for twelve straight hours.

Daryn anchors two overs at the top of every hour. In between, a relay of club cricketers, disability players, juniors, women's teams and cricket creators keeps the net alive the rest of the time. Every run scored by anyone, all day, lands on one live tracker climbing towards three thousand.

The whole day is streamed live on the Odyssey Camp & Co YouTube channel, with the run total and the donation link on screen throughout, so anyone anywhere can follow the count and chip in as it climbs.

Once your slot is confirmed, you will be pointed to the JustGiving page.
Donate your slot fee on JustGiving with the message "Batting slot booking" and your name.
That's it. Your slot is confirmed and your donation goes straight to Parkinson's UK.

You don't have to pick up a bat, and you don't have to follow cricket. Donations are open to everyone. Every run needs backing, and every donation funds Parkinson's research, roughly a pound-fifty for every run we score.

Every pound raised goes straight to Parkinson's UK, and that is only possible because businesses give what the day needs instead of the event paying for it. PowerPlay RH1, our host venue in Redhill, led the way. They have given the venue, their staff and their support for the full twelve hours, and put their own network behind the day. Now we are inviting other businesses to join them. You do not need to be in cricket, and you do not need deep pockets.

Three ways to back the day

Pledge. Make a business pledge straight to our JustGiving page. Most business pledges land between £100 and £500; a lead backer of an hour or a milestone, £500 and up.

Provide. Cover something the day needs from the wish list, from prize gear to camera kit, catering, banners or insurance. Often the easiest way in.

Match. Pledge a donation that unlocks live when the run counter passes a marker you choose. Your name goes up every time it falls.
